TIRANA, December 4 – On the eve of the EU-Western Balkans summit on December 6, Prime Minister Edi Rama reiterated his position that security measures are non-negotiable.
“It is a strategic assessment by the organizers to place this station for a journey in Tirana. It is not a station chosen at random, but in a well-thought-out way. The security perimeter of international summits is not negotiated with anyone, anywhere,” said Rama.
According to him, the opposition protest to be organized on the same day when the summit will be held is absurd and it is being organized by those who have received Russian funding.
“It is an absurd protest that has nothing to do with anything other than the continuation of a mission that right now, for those who care to look, is a clear mission. It is the same force, which was paid with Russian money to overthrow the government of this country and this is a fact,” said Rama.
Rama denied that the EU has expressed concern about security, warning that there will be legal consequences for those who will try to violate it.
The head of government gave an answer to Serbia’s participation in the summit saying that its absence would be catastrophic.
“Serbia will be at the summit and the president of Serbia (Aleksandar Vucic) has no other way but to come to the summit,” said Rama, who added that the failure to attend the summit would be a disaster for Serbia and Vucic. /Argumentum.al
