TIRANA, October 14 – The General Secretary of the Council of Ministers, Engjëll Agaçi, appeared at the prosecution authority of serious crimes, SPAK, on Friday.
The news was made known by the local media, which wrote that Agaçi stayed for more than 1 hour in the special prosecutor’s office.
The sources said that the most important person in Rama’s government has appeared in SPAK, and has been summoned as a person who knows about the 420 million euro – affair of the incinerators.
Agaçi, so called Don Agaçi, has not given any comment after leaving the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
But sources confirmed that Agaçi arrived at SPAK at the end of the official work day (after 14 o’clock) and was questioned by Dritan Prençi, who investigates the Tirana incinerator case.
Earlier, Agaçi testified in the Parliamentary Commission set up to investigate the Incinerators. Former minister Lefter Koka is in prison and former MP Alqi Blako is under house arrest.
The investigation of the mega corrupt affair of incinerators continues for a long time and a minister and a senior government official are behind bars, but the tentacles of the crime, according to the probe, lead to many other senior officials. The opposition accuses PM Edi Rama of being behind the stealing of hundreds of millions of euros from Albania.
In the meantime, some other ‘actors’ of the scheme have been declared wanted but they have been able to escape so far. /Argumentum.al
