TIRANA, June 20 – The head of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, called the police operation conducted in the Mujahedin camp in Manzë a lack of professionalism and transparency.
In a reaction on social networks on Tuesday, Meta said that the violence used is unacceptable and an international investigation is needed.
“The extremely serious event today in the ASHRAF Camp of the Mujahideen in Manze is clear evidence of the complete lack of transparency and professionalism of the actions of state structures,” said Meta, a former president.
“The open violence resulting in the loss of one person’s life and the wounding of dozens of others is completely unacceptable and evidence of the disproportionate use of force against a community, which is welcomed to Albania,” he said, calling for the identification of all those responsible of violence, as well as the verification with maximum legal responsibility of all the actions undertaken by the state structures as an insurmountable obligation for this event, which has shocked the Albanian and international public opinion.
The State Police in implementation of an order of SPAK, with the decision of the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime, conducted a police operation in the camp of the mujahedin which caused resistance by them on Tuesday. /argumentum.al
