TIRANA, July 27 – President Bajram Begaj will participate in the 78th debate of the UN General Assembly, on September 17-23, 2023.
On Thursday he received the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Albania, Fiona McCluney, who informed President Begaj about the Summit that will be organized by the Secretary General of the UN, António Guterres.
Also, McCluney shared with President Begaj information on the expectations of the summit as well as the level of participation. At the end of the debates and review of the most important topics for the future of humanity and the planet, it is expected that the participating leaders will adopt a political declaration to express the commitments to achieving the Objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
President Begaj evaluated the initiative “Salvation Plan for People and the Planet” of Secretary General Guterres as very positive and timely for the fulfillment of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and expressed the willingness and involvement of the institutions of Albania in the realization of national commitments. /argumentum.al
