TIRANA, April 29 – The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, together with the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, visited the arbanas community of Zadar in Croatia.
During the meeting, President Begaj praised the Albanian community for preserving Albanian identity, language, culture and traditions.
“Your presence here in Zadar even after more than three centuries is a common historical legacy, which has greatly influenced the strengthening of the friendly bilateral relationship between the two peoples and the two countries,” said President Begaj.
“This rich heritage of our nation that your forefathers brought here to Zadar, we have a common obligation to preserve and promote even more,” he said.
The Head of State praised Croatia’s hospitality and good policies for minorities, underlining that Albanians, both from the Albanian community and those who arrived in recent decades, are well represented in the fields of art, sports and even political levels in the country’s parliament. /Argumentum.al
