TIRANA, May 6 – President Bajram Begaj accompanied by the First Lady, Armanda Begaj, participated in the coronation ceremonies of King Charles III and the Queen of the United Kingdom in London on Saturday.
King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, were officially crowned king and queen during a coronation ceremony Saturday at Westminster Abbey, the first coronation there since that of Charles’ mother, Queen Elizabeth II, back in 1953. Massive crowds lined the royals’ route to and from the ceremony over the course of several hours.
President Begaj said on Twitter that he was honored to represent Albania at the historic Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
“Cherishing our strong bond with the United Kingdom, we send our best wishes to Your Majesties,” Begaj wrote.
On Friday, President Begaj and the First Lady attended the reception given by King Charles III and the Queen of the United Kingdom at Buckingham Palace for the heads of state participating in the ceremony.
Meanwhile, they attended the coronation ceremonies of the king and queen of the United Kingdom in Westminster Church on Saturday.
As part of the participation in these ceremonies, President Begaj also met with various heads of state.
It is reported that Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani was invited and attended Saturday’s ceremony in London. /Argumentum.al
