TIRANA, December 23 – President Bajram Begaj decreed on Friday the release from duty of the director of the State Information Service (SHISH), Helidon Bendo.
The decree for the release of the Director of the State Information Service comes after the Prime Minister’s proposal.
Bendo was appointed director of the State Intelligence Service on November 5, 2018. He is a career inspector having joined the intelligence service in 1995.
In the meantime it is officially reported that Bendo will continue to work as an advisor to the Prime Minister for the reform of security institutions. The news was announced on Friday by Prime Minister Rama, who also shared the reasons for releasing Bendo from this position.
“With Helidon Bendo, the director of the State Intelligence Service, who, due to continuing his postgraduate studies at the College of International and Security Studies, at the National Defense University in the United States, has submitted his resignation. He will continue to work as an advisor to the Prime Minister for the reform of security institutions,” said Rama. /Argumentum.al
