TIRANA, September 16 – President Bajram Begaj held a meeting with representatives of several non-profit organizations operating in the field of democracy and human rights on the occasion of the International Day of Democracy.
Begaj announced that the current challenges of Albanian democracy were discussed during the meeting.
“We discussed the current challenges of Albanian democracy and how the President’s institution can cooperate with the representatives of activist citizens to protect and strengthen it,” said Begaj.
This year’s theme for International Democracy Day was “Empowering the Next Generation” and focused on the essential role of young people in the advancement of democracy and the guarantees that they have a voice in decision-making. /argumentum.al
