President Ilir Meta praised on Wednesday the excellent relations between Albania and Malta where he was welcomed in an official ceremony by the President of the Republic of Malta, George Vella on Wednesday.
Meta underlined the will to further strengthen the ties between the two countries in favor of increasing exchanges in areas of mutual interest.
After appreciating the valuable contribution of the Maltese community in Albania in the field of social and education and expressed satisfaction for the hospitality and good integration of the Albanian community in Malta over the years, Meta stressed the importance of reaching a bilateral agreement on seasonal employment.
The Albanian President expressed his gratitude to his counterpart Vella for the valuable and continuous support that Malta gives to Albania in its process of integration into the European Union.
The two presidents agreed to further promote, encourage and seize opportunities for co-operation in key sectors such as finance, tourism, energy, infrastructure, information technology, education and shipping.
During the meeting, the two heads of state discussed and shared concern over the current critical situation in Ukraine, following the unjustifiable and unprovoked invasion by Russia. /Argumentum.al
