In the reasons for the return of the draft law on the “Budget 2022″ adopted by Parliament a few weeks ago, President Ilir Meta highlighted that in its entirety it is an antisocial financial plan which has worrying lack of transparency regarding expenditures and fiscal policies.
According to him, the draft bill presents very worrying issues regarding the level of public debt, its use and economic effect. Meta said on Friday that it lacks real support for the vital sectors of the economy and in particular for agriculture, the necessary budget support for the needy to cure COVID-19 infection, who are treated at home and outside the hospital system.
Meta stated, “in 2020 Albania had the lowest productivity compared to the countries of the region. In Albania about 33% of the population has an income below $ 5.5 per day. The minimum wage in Albania according to the report of the International Monetary Fund is lower compared to the countries of the region. Albania continues to have a low performance in collecting public revenues. In 2020, Albania collected about 26.3% of PPB.”
Meta concluded that the 2022 budget does not reflect a social care policy to improve the social situation in general, as well as in particular of persons at the poverty line. / Argumentum.al
