TIRANA, August 25 – The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, has declared that North Macedonia should become a member of the EU as the European Union is the only alternative.
Among other things, the prime minister said that if North Macedonia is separated from Albania, no one guarantees the country when and in what way it will become a member of the EU. He also noted that North Macedonia will protect the future of the citizens, the Macedonian language and identity.
“Any other result in voting on constitutional changes will mean an uncertain future for the country. Today, if we separate from Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, no one guarantees us when and in what way we will become members of the EU. The future of the citizens cannot be held hostage, especially after the Macedonian language and identity have been protected,” he said.
In addition, Kovacevski said that the constitutional changes make other parts of the nations to be included in the constitution and a clear distinction is made between the Macedonian nation and every nation, including the Bulgarian one.
“The situation at the moment is clear and clean, I have serious support for voting on constitutional changes. Blocking this process will be harmful and this can be proven by every conversation with foreign diplomats,” said the Macedonian premier. /argumentum.al
