TIRANA, December 7 – Kosovo’s Interior Minister Xelal Svecla has said that they are collecting all the evidence after Tuesday’s terrorist attacks in the north of the country. When asked if there are any arrestees in the north, he said that the Kosovo Police are doing intensive work in cooperation with the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
He has shown that the testimonies from the videos and eyewitnesses are being collected. “We now have the first information which is being verified through more than one channel. The evidence is being collected, including footages,” he said, adding that according to certain information, some of the members of these groups are former members of the Kosovo Police.
When asked if there is any guarantee that the attacks of Tuesday night in the north will not be repeated, Svecla said that the Kosovo Police and all security institutions are maximally engaged to prevent them.
“I don’t expect anything good either from Vucic or from the Government of Serbia, who are actually the supporters, leaders, financiers of these groups and give political shield to these criminal groups, and I don’t expect that they will decide at some point that they will leave these practices. It is up to the Kosovo institutions to fight successfully these criminals 24/7,” said the minister.
Asked if the elections scheduled to be held on December 18 and 25 can be postponed, the Interior Minister expressed his conviction that the Kosovo Police have all the necessary capacities to guarantr the entire democratic processes in the Republic of Kosovo. /Argumentum.al
