Special Anti-Corruption Structure (SPAK) has launched investigations into incinerators in Fier, Elbasan and Tirana, according to official sources from this prosecution body on Thursday.
This comes after the reports that the opposition Democratic Party (DP) filed a lawsuit demanding a probe into the case of the incinerator of Tirana three days ago, while another lawsuit was filed for Fier incinerator on Wednesday.
SPAK sources said that the investigation will be expanded to include any allegations by Democrats about corruption scandals.
The three files will be investigated separately.
SPAK prosecutors will receive the documents of the tender procedures, while the concrete names in the investigation have not been included yet.
The special prosecuting body clarified that concrete actions would be taken by the prosecutors of the case, but they cannot be made public for investigation reasons.
DP chairman Lulzim Basha urged SPAK to start the probe even on Thursday in a press conference telling prosecutors not to be afraid as they are internationally protected. /argumentum.al
