The protest organized by civil society organizations entered the fifth day on Sunday, while citizens gathered again on the boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit”, in front of the headquarters of the Prime Minister to oppose the increase in prices of fuel and basket products.
In the capital, protesters first gathered in “Skanderbeg” square, and then continued the march towards the Prime Minister’s office. With placards in hand, they called for measures to reduce food and fuel prices and requested the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Professor Ervin Goci stated that Rama is using the war in Ukraine for propaganda. He called on citizens to join the protest with bills in hand.
Speakers from civil society have also said that the 7-point plan proposed by the government as a Social Resistance Package is just another cheating.
“The 7-point plan is just another hoax. Nothing has been added to the government’s plan,” said some citizens participants in the protest.
There have been protests in other cities like in Korca, Devoll, Kukes and Gjirokastra on Sunday.
The protesters stated that they will be in front of the Prime Minister’s Office at 17:00 every afternoon until their demands are met. /Argumentum.al
