TIRANA, February 18 – The three Albanian teams that participated in the search and rescue operations in areas devastated by earthquakes in Turkey finished their work and returned home on Saturday.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared on social networks the video of the reception organized on this occasion, saying that he felt pride and respect for the three teams of girls and boys from the Armed Forces, Civil Emergencies and the Health Service, who were engaged in search and rescue operations in the areas destroyed by the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey during 11 days and nights.
“They return to their homeland, taking with them the respect and gratitude of the Turkish people, the media and the Turkish authorities, who have unanimously appreciated Albania as a small country with a big heart,” said Prime Minister Rama.
Albania immediately responded to Turkey’s call for help after the severe event and the first Albanian rescue team arrived at the earthquake areas within 24 hours.
Also, on behalf of the Albanian people, the Prime Minister, Rama became part of the awareness campaign, donating 1 million euros in aid of the reconstruction in Turkey. /Argumentum.al
