Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama arrived in Ankara on an official visit to Turkey at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s invitation, PM Rama announced in a post on Twitter on Wednesday.
Rama accompanied by many ministers and other senior government officials was received in an official ceremony of the highest protocol by Erdogan.
“On an official visit at the invitation of President Erdogan to open a new chapter of cooperation between the two governments and sign a series of important agreements in the framework of our strategic partnership,” Rama said.
Earlier Turkey’s Communications Directorate said bilateral relations between Turkey and Albania as well as steps to improve cooperation will be discussed during the talks on January 6-7.
During the meetings, views will be exchanged on current regional and international developments as well as bilateral ties, the statement added.
Last month, Rama praised Turkey’s performance in its fight against the novel coronavirus.
