TIRANA, April 6 – Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting on Thursday with the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates after signing the agreement on cooperation in cyber security, which he described as strategically important for Albania.
The PM said that the United Arab Emirates is a country that has been present when Albanians needed it most to not feel alone. Rama recalled the large mass exodus of Kosovo Albanians towards Albania and at that time the current president of the United Emirates, accompanied by a large group of people, brought relief aid. Also, according to him, the way was opened for planes to land in Kukës to help those who were in great need.
“We have felt the friendship and I must say that the last few years have marked very positive developments,” Rama said, adding that the United Arab Emirates had the will to be part of a long journey but also to do everything for the process of normalization between Serbia and Kosovo.
“We appreciate you and are blessed that we have been so privileged for this historical period that after a long isolation we were able to meet people like you and the people of the Emirates who make our lives more beautiful because not only do we not feel alone but exceedingly respected. Nothing is more important than friendship,” said Rama./argumentum.al
