TIRANA, December 15 – Prime Minister Edi Rama informed at the year-end dinner with representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Tirana on Wednesday that Albania will host the Berlin Process Summit next spring.
“We are proud and happy that we have been asked by our great partner and friend Germany to host the Berlin Process Summit next spring. We see it as an expression of appreciation and respect for what Albania is constantly doing to actively promote regional cooperation, peace and dialogue, closer ties with its Western Balkan neighbors, interactions between people and businesses from all our countries,” said Rama.
The Prime Minister assured that they will do their best to be up to the task and host an unforgettable summit of the Berlin Process, as was done with the EU summit on December 6 this year.
Albania together with Serbia and North Macedonia are the launchers of the Open Balkans initiative and there have been a lot of arguments if the BP and OB are in competition with each other because more or less their platform is the same. Moreover, three of the 6 WB countries are not part of the Open Balkans. /Argumentum.al
