TIRANA – Works continue at a high pace on the Tirana-Durrës railway, which are expected to be completed in 2024.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared on social networks moments from the work on the construction of this railway on Thursday.
Rama said that “the Tirana-Durres railway is another important project, which is advancing every day and where the physical completion of the work is expected to be completed in 2024. Citizens will have at their disposal a new form of transport, missing until now, at a lower cost and without any impact on the environment.”
Prime Minister Rama announced that thanks to this railway line, the travel time from Tirana-Durrës will be 22 minutes and Tirana-Rinas only 12 minutes.
The Tirana-Durrës railway is considered the best solution to travel to the coastal city and the country’s largest port, as well as to Rinas airport. Durrës is seen as the most important connection as other railway routes related to Corridor 8 will depart from Durrës. /Argumentum.al
