TIRANA, March 23 – Prime Minister Edi Rama was received by his British counterpart, Rishi Sunak in London on Thursday. British Prime Minister Sunak has welcomed Prime Minister Rama, stressing that the focus of their meeting will be the issue of illegal Albanian immigration to the United Kingdom.
Rama and Sunak appreciated the good relations that exist between the two countries and expressed the common will to deepen them in the future, strengthening at the same time economic cooperation, trade exchanges, cooperation in the field of security, especially in the war against cyber attacks.
“The United Kingdom and Albania clearly have a strong partnership and I look forward to deepening this relationship today with you. Last year, we signed a communiqué to fight illegal immigration and I am very satisfied with the progress made and we will discuss this later and also what we can do more for the return of prisoners,” said Sunak.
In addition, he said that there are more other issues related to bilateral relations to talk about, such as the strengthening of economic cooperation, trade, security, especially the fight against cyber attacks that Albania has faced.
For his part, Prime Minister Rama told his British counterpart that they should join forces to fight criminal groups, and he said that the Albanian community is not the one that is written about, but that represents other values.
