TIRANA, March 21 – The Greek President and Speaker of the Parliament shared the same opinion when they declared to Prime Minister Edi Rama in the two meetings held in Athens on Tuesday that the minorities on both sides of the border of Albania and Greece are the bridges that strengthen the connection between the two countries.
In the short statements that the Speaker of the Greek Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas and Prime Minister Rama made before the meeting, they also talked about the support that the Greek government gives to the integration of Albania in the EU. “Your country rightly aims to move towards European integration, our country rightly supports Albania’s European journey. Having bridges the Greek minority in Albania and the Albanian community in Greece connecting the two countries they are moving forward.”
In the meeting with the president, there was no statement, but it is known that Rama has expressed optimism about the resolution of the sea issue at the Hague Court, as the parties have agreed to address together.
“I am very optimistic that precisely in this climate we will solve all the pending issues between the two countries,” said the PM, Rama.
The meetings were preceded by the opening of Rama’s personal exhibition in Athens on Monday. As he claimed this was the first time he combined a business visit with the exhibition of his works. The Greek Foreign Minister, Niko Dendias, was also at the ceremony. According to Dendias, Greece sees Albania as a neighbor, a close friend and “let me say, I hope, soon, as part of our common European family”. /Argumentum.al
