TIRANA -A few days before the parliamentary elections in Montenegro, the Albanian Prime Minister has openly supported Milo Djukanovic, praising him for his contribution not only to Montenegro but to the entire region.
While everyone was waiting for Prime Minister Edi Rama to launch an appeal to ethnic Albanians of Montenegro on this occasion, in fact the Head of the Albanian government, speaking in the Montenegrin language, called on the Montenegrin citizens to vote for his friend Milo Djukanovic so that Montenegro can continue to develop.
“I would not have done this if I did not deeply feel the special bond between the two fraternal countries, our sister parties, and I say this to all of you on my behalf and that of Milo Djukanovic because of the great importance that the decision to be made by Montenegrins in the coming days has for Albania and the whole region,” said Rama.
He said he would have liked to speak in Montenegrin language but he knows very little. “I want to thank Milo that exists, not only for Montenegro but also for Albania and Kosovo and the whole region.”
According to Rama, what Djukanovic has done should make every Montenegrin citizen proud, and make parents feel safe for their children. “He has made a valuable contribution to Montenegro on the European path.”
In conclusion of his passionate message Rama told Montenegrin citizens: “Do not get ready to take steps backwards. These elections are crucial for Montenegro. Today there is no one to take Montenegro forward like Milo who has saved it many times. Vote for him to continue the wonderful work that has made Montenegro flourish. God bless Montenegro at every step!”
Montenegro goes to polls on August 30 and ethnic Albanians who constitute more than 5 percent of the population of this country will cast their ballots for Albanian candidates for the new 81-member Parliament who run in two electoral lists./argumentum.al
