As it is common every government makes a balancing sheet of its performance in the first 100 days and Prime Minister Edi Rama did this with his cabinet on Wednesday where the ministers reported on the work done during that period, government officials said on Wednesday.
The main focus has been the pandemic and the reconstruction process, according to the same sources.
This analysis of the government’s work comes a day after the “Open Balkans” Summit that took place in Tirana with the participation of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, where 5 more agreements were signed. Accords have been signed even with the Kosovo government a few weeks ago, but no one mentions them because Pristina is not part of the Open Balkans.
“The government meeting ended after 6 hours. The analysis of the work of each ministry has been done in the first stage of the government. Many issues were touched upon in this meeting, where each minister unveiled the balance sheet of his work. Every minister is focused on the initiatives taken,” said local media on Wednesday quoting official sources.
According to the reports, reconstruction and pandemics were discussed, as well as issues related to infrastructure. Rama listened to the ministers and gave instructions. Minister Ahmetaj confirmed that it was a working meeting. “It started at 9:30 in the morning and lasted about 6 hours,” he said.
In the meantime, the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko stated that there is a recovery of economic activity in the country and improvement of labor market indicators. There is a rapid rise in inflation over the last two months and that there will be rising levels of inflation even during the first half of next year, he said at the routine monthly press conference.
The head of the BoA stressed that the increase in oil, energy and food prices in the world market has begun to be reflected directly and indirectly in the prices of consumer goods in the country.
