The Council of Albanian Ambassadors welcomes the decision of the Republic of Kenya to recognize the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state and expresses its deepest gratitude and highest appreciation for the visionary leadership of the Kenyan authorities.
This is an important diplomatic breakthrough, bringing an end to a four-year period without new recognitions, and it should serve to revitalize the diplomatic and political efforts of Kosovo, Albania, friendly nations, and all those who can contribute to increasing Kosovo’s recognitions and strengthening its position on the international stage.
Kenya’s recognition of independent and sovereign Kosovo is evidence of the correct application of international law and the justice of Kosovo’s independence and sovereignty, as well as of a reality that is now irreversible, contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity throughout the region and beyond.
The Council of Albanian Ambassadors emphasizes the importance of this recognition, especially since the Republic of Kenya is one of the most economically and democratically consolidated states on the vast African continent, member of many International Organizations, as well as a major non-NATO ally of the United States of America. We are fully confident that this achievement will encourage further steps in the process of Kosovo’s continued diplomatic consolidation.
We express our deep gratitude to all those who contributed to this achievement. In particular, we sincerely thank the former President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Behgjet Pacolli, for his unwavering dedication and extraordinary contribution to securing this recognition. His continued commitment to strengthening Kosovo’s international position is yielding concrete results.
