TIRANA, May 27 – Deputy of the Democratic Party (DP) and former chairman of this party, Lulzim Basha, held a meeting, as he said, with a group of contributors and centrists of the DP branch 2 in Tirana on Saturday.
Basha posted pictures from the meeting on social networks saying that he had an open and direct conversation with them.
“I responded without any hesitation to their questions, interest and concerns and I will do this with all the members of our political family. But I will never become part of the mudslinging, even when they continue as they have resumed with the same attacks, lies and deceptions,” he said.
“I took a step back because I didn’t want an internal war, convinced that it only benefits the opponents! And it was the right thing. But here we are. Nothing has changed, the situation is even worse for the democrats and the Albanians,” said Basha, who returned to the political scene after a long time leaving the DP faction under the leadership of Enkelejd Alibeaj, who resigned a few days ago.
According to Basha, only a clear alternative, which focuses on the problems of citizens and not those of politicians, can bring real change. /argumentum.al
