TIRANA, June 2 – The former Socialist Minister of the Interior, Saimir Tahiri, reacted after leaving the prison cell in Lushnja on Friday.
Through a post on social networks, he said that he would continue to demand his right without sparing.
The court of Elbasan released the former minister of the interior, Saimir Tahiri, from the prison of Kosovo, Lushnja. The court decided that Tahiri would serve the remainder of his sentence at home.
According to the decision, it is allowed for Tahiri during the period of stay at home to leave his place of residence to meet the necessary family needs for which the Probation Service agrees.
Tahiri was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in prison for the charge of abuse of office, while he will serve the rest of the sentence of almost 1 year in prison at home.
While his release has evoked negative reactions from the opposition, even from the US Embassy in Tirana, Tahiri did not hesitate to declare that he would continue to seek justice as he had done until today.
“I had the opportunity to recognize the injustice in front of me. Now I have the opportunity to ask for the right incessantly! Thank you all so much!” said Tahiri in his post. /argumentum.al
