The plenary meeting of the leaders of the Western Balkan countries within the Brdo-Brioni process, which is being held on Monday on Brdo near Kranj hosted by the President of Slovenia Borut Pahor, started at the congress center, and according to earlier announcements, there were tensions in its deliberations.
The reason was the adoption of a joint statement in which the parties expressed their view that the borders of the Balkans should not be changed.
The atmosphere at this summit was electrified due to the fact that there has long been talk of a “non-paper” document, which allegedly had its source in the Slovenian government which provided for the revision of the borders.
According to the Serbian newspaper Vecernje Novosti, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani and Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Shefik Dzaferovic criticized Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
The clash began after summit participants initially took the initiative to adopt some conclusions, according to which the borders in the region are unchanged, but Vucic opposed them in advance.
“The old platforms for Belgrade’s fault were repeated and the Serbian head of state was slammed by Osmani and Xhaferovic, who attacked him together,” Serbian media reported on Monday.
It is learned that Vuçiç left the summit before the end due to this debate which took place behind closed doors attended by Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, Albanian President Ilir Meta, Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic, BiH Presidency members Milorad Dodik, Zeljko Komsic, Sefik Dzaferovic, Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski, and President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani. /argumentum.al
