TIRANA, August 13 – The Chairperson of the Appeals Committee in the Democratic Party (DP), Adriana Kalaja called on the prosecution authority of serious crimes (SPAK) to investigate into former deputy prime minister Arben Ahmetaj in a talk show on a local TV on Saturday.
Kalaja said that the former deputy prime minister signed 14 Decisions of the Council of Ministers (VKM) after he was dismissed from office.
According to her, the VKMs signed by Ahmetaj are dated July 27, while the order for his dismissal is dated July 24. She called on SPAK to start a probe into Arben Ahmetaj. Also, the lawyer asked SPAK to investigate the VKMs from 2013 onwards, published in the Official Gazette, as it turns out that no government meetings were held to take these decisions.
“All 14 VKMs are null because the former deputy prime minister did not have an opportunity to exercise his function, but it is also a criminal offense because his public function was interrupted. I have appealed to SPAK on behalf of DP to initiate investigations what it should do by itself,” said Kalaja.
She said the meetings of the Council of Ministers were not held. “If SPAK will have the right will, there will be a large number of VKM s from 2013 onwards, where the ministers or deputy prime ministers themselves will declare that they had no knowledge, or they signed them as the prime minister declared to the commission of incinerators,” said the DP official.
