TIRANA, November 21 – Organized criminal group, drug trafficking, providing conditions to commit murder, money laundering, are just some of the serious criminal offenses of which more than 11 officers are accused.
In an official announcement to the media, SPAK on Tuesday provided details on the operation launched on Monday night by SPAK, which has so far led to the arrest of 4 people. The arrested are Erzen Berçani, Besmir Murati, Dedan Gjoni and Bujar Ajeti (Germizi). While 6 others have been announced as wanted: Ismail Zeneli, Artan Sulejmani, Albert Prenga, Bajram Grabova, Eralbi Breçani, Ervin Mata. For the 11th member of this group, the officer of the Border and Immigration Directorate Jonida Babameto, the measure of the obligation to appear was set.
In an official announcement to the media, SPAK said that investigations into the group in question, whose members are accused of being involved in criminal activities in Albania, South America and Europe, were carried out in cooperation with international law enforcement agencies. “Within this criminal proceeding, the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime has conducted investigations regarding several Albanian citizens involved in criminal activities in Albania, in South America as well as in some other countries in Europe in intensive cooperation with Eurojust, Europol and the Dutch, Belgian, German, Brazilian, Colombian and French law enforcement agencies. It has also been investigated in connection with some previous criminal events that happened in Albania,” said SPAK.
During the investigations SPAK says that it became possible to document the criminal activity of suspected persons, as well as to identify some of the perpetrators of criminal events and the commission of criminal offenses, which were committed in cooperation, in the form of a structured criminal group.
During the operation, checks were carried out in apartments and other premises, where monetary amounts, vehicles, telephones, various firearms were found and seized as material evidence. /argumentum.al
