TIRANA, March 29 – The special authority for serious crime, SPAK, issued arrest warrants for nine persons involved in the affair of incinerators of Fier and Elbasan on Tuesday. Following this the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO), with a panel composed of Judge Irena Gjoka at the request of the Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime, Dritan Prençi decided the security measures “prison arrest” for 7 persons and the imposition of security measure “house arrest” for 2 persons.
Earlier GJKKO imposed measures “arrest in prison” for former Minister Lefter Koka and 6 other people.
Lefter Koka, former Minister of Environment is accused of “abuse of duty” in collaboration, “passive corruption of senior state officials or local elected officials” and “cleaning the proceeds of crime or criminal activity”, committed in the qualifying circumstance “in cooperation”.
Pëllumb Abeshi, a former member of the Commission for the award of the incinerator, director of policies at the Ministry of Environment, is accused of “abuse of duty”. Azem Shatëri, director of the Public Services Enterprise in Fier is accused of “abuse of duty”. Florjan Mucaj, member of the Procurement Commission, is accused of “abuse of duty”. Erjon Murataj, suspected of committing the criminal offense “abuse of duty”, in collaboration, provided by articles 248 and 25 of the Criminal Code.
Klodian Zoto is accused of “active corruption of senior state officials or local elected officials” and “cleaning the proceeds of crime or criminal activity.” Arenc Myrtezani, former administrator of the Fier incinerator, accused of “active corruption of senior state officials or local elected officials” and “cleaning the proceeds of crime or criminal activity.”
Also, GJKKO has imposed “house arrest” for 2 persons: Sabina Cenamerin and Etleva Kondi.
In the meantime SPAK submitted a request to the Assembly for authorization to impose a personal security measure arrest in prison for the citizen Alqi Bllako, who is a deputy of the Socialist Party (SP).

In a comment on this event, the Chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla said that “in human terms, of course I am not happy, for any colleague to make this request, whether left or right, but the SP will not be and it has never been a law firm for anyone within it to be brought to justice.” /Argumentum.al
