The Head of the Special Prosecution Against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK), Arben Kraja has responded to the Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the ruling Socialist Party (SP), Taulant Balla regarding the criminal proceedings that the latter has conducted in the SPAK for former -Prime Minister Sali Berisha and former ministers and other members of the government from 2005 to 2013.
In the content of his letter, Balla says that on 17. 11.2020, in the capacity of the chairman of the SP parliamentary group and as a member of the Albanian Parliament, I filed a report with the Special Prosecution Against Organized Crime and Corruption for the criminal offense of abuse of office in cooperation and corruption against Sali Berisha – former Prime Minister during the years 2005-2013; Arben Imami, former Minister of Defense 2009-2013, other members of the Council of Ministers, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Jambër Malltezi, 35% shareholder of the Company “Jomeplan” LLC. husband of Argita Sali Berisha; Administrator and shareholders of the company “Homeplan” LLC; Administrator and shareholders of the company “Kontakt KPS, members of the Property Restitution Commission, members of the Valuation Commission, officials of the Directorate of Public Property Sales Administration in office in 2008.
“We have no information on the condition and level of proceedings regarding this lawsuit,” said Balla.
In his response released on Tuesday Kraja said that after the verifications performed it results that it was registered the criminal proceeding no. 287 for the criminal offense provided by Article 287 of the Criminal Code without registered names in the register of notification of criminal offenses of the Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime on 1.12.2020.
