TIRANA, September 21 – In the framework of the 17th edition of the International Film Festival for Human Rights, the activity “Stand with Ukraine” took place in the Assembly on Tuesday.
In addition to the deputies of the Assembly and guests, the ambassador of Ukraine, Volodymyr Shukrov, and the ambassador of Canada, Elissa Golberg, took part in the event.
The participants watched the screening of the documentary “Mariupol, the unlost hope”, which contained, among other things, painful and touching experiences and confessions of Ukrainian women about the tragedy that is happening in Ukraine after the military aggression of Russia.

Speaker Lindita Nikolla underlined that the war in Ukraine does not only threaten that country, its people and economy. “This war is a threat to humanity. Ukraine is an alarm for everyone because the enemies of peace have been reactivated by Russia’s aggression, which can be individuals, terrorist groups, governments, states or organizations,” she said.
According to her, it is no coincidence that parallel to the war in Ukraine, terrorist actions and attacks, physical or virtual, have increased in the region and beyond. Cyber terrorism is threatening humanity alongside other forms of terrorism and wars of aggression.

In addition to aid to Ukraine, about 3,000 Ukrainian citizens have taken refuge in Albania.
The ambassador of Ukraine, Volodymyr Shukrov, also spoke at the event. /Argumentum.al
