The European Union supports a single institutional and administrative structure within Kosovo. This is what the EU spokesperson, Peter Stano, said in response to the question of what is the attitude of Brussels regarding the parallel structures of Serbia operating in Kosovo.
“All the past dialogue agreements are fully harmonized with the principle of the single institutional and administrative structure, and they follow the legal and institutional framework of Kosovo, as confirmed by the Conclusions of the European Council”, Stano underlined in a written response.
This issue was raised on the occasion of the last meeting in the framework of the dialogue where the issue of the dinar was discussed, in which case the Serbian side has requested that all the structures of Serbia continue to be financed until the time when the Association is established.
According to Stano’s explanation, the status of the structures supported by Serbia is expected to be resolved within the dialogue and in connection with the establishment of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority in Kosovo.
Brussels once again called on Kosovo to move forward and without further delay, with the establishment of the Association in accordance with the Draft Statute of the European Union.
