TIRANA, January 29 – The nationwide action nicknamed ‘Fijet’ (Threads) for the removal of illegal cameras continues and the police of Fier dismantled and seized on Sunday 20 security cameras in Fier and Lushnje installed by criminal groups in violation of the law for the purpose of surveillance of police officers. Of these cameras, 5 of them were located in the city of Fier and 15 in the city of Lushnja. 5 people are under investigation for their placement.
Albania seems to have been monitored like a ‘Big Brother’ premise by cameras owned by criminals to watch the movements of the police and opponents. Similar actions were carried out in Shkodra, where more than 50 cameras were removed, in Vlora, Korca, Pogradec, Durrës and Shijak.
On Saturday, 47 security cameras installed by criminal groups, in some neighborhoods of the Durrës district, were dismantled by the police. The cameras were installed by the underworld groups in Durrës, Shijak, Kruje and Nikël.
On Thursday, 16 security cameras located in 6 neighborhoods of the city of Vlora were dismantled. The cameras that were installed in the neighborhoods “Uji i Ftohtë”, “1 Maji”, “24 Maji”, “Lirim” and “Hajro Çakërri” were connected to mobile devices of different people.
Unveiling a balance sheet, the state police have so far dismantled 122 cameras: 59 in Shkodra, 47 in Durrës, 16 in Vlora and 20 in Fier and Lushnja. /Argumentum.al
