Swedish Ambassador to Albania Elsa Håstad has condemned the detention of Albanian journalists during recent protests by police in Tirana, according to a post on Twitter by her on Monday.
Ambassador Håstad expressed her solidarity with every journalist standing up by them to work free from violence and harassment.
A few days ago two journalists were detained by police being escorted to police stations preventing them from reporting on ongoing protests due to the assassination of the 25-year-old youth, Klodian Rasha by a police officer in Tirana last Tuesday.
“We are worried to learn that Xhoi Malesia and Qamil Xhani were stopped from reporting while covering the protest,” Ambassador said.
