TIRANA, April 20 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Tobias Billstrom, requested on Thursday the implementation of the basic agreement Kosovo-Serbia reached on February 27 in Brussels and the annex of its implementation agreed upon in Ohrid, North Macedonia, on March 18.
“The two parties that have signed the agreement must fulfill their commitments. Even in Belgrade, I emphasized that they should also do their part of the work. Likewise, even in Pristina, if you commit to an agreement, of course you must fulfill it,” said the Minister in a joint press conference with his Kosovo counterpart Gervalla.
During his visit to Kosovo on Thursday, the Swedish minister also underlined the need for the establishment of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority, according to KosovaPress.
“We also want to see Kosovo fulfill its commitments to create the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority,” said Billstrom.
He added that Sweden also supports Kosovo’s application for membership in the European Union.
For her part, Gërvalla spoke about Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, in which case she said she hopes that the application will pass from the Committee of Ministers to the Parliamentary Assembly very quickly.
In addition, Gërvalla underlined the deepening of cooperation between Kosovo and Sweden.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Tobias Billstrom, also met with President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Earlier he paid a visit to Serbia. /Argumentum.al
