TIRANA, June 7 – Jorida Tabaku, the deputy of the faction of the Democratic Party (DP) that supports the former chairman, Lulzim Basha, withdrew from the position of vice chairwoman that she held in this party, after the decision of the Chairmanship to move forward with the election process in the party, a decision with which Tabaku did not agree.
The leadership of the DP held a long, tense meeting of 8 hours where it decided to proceed with the elections.
“My request and desire has been single and simple, let’s not rush and give the democrats a fair, real process that honors us. We all agreed on the fact that DP should be reorganized, but we did not find a common language on how to reorganize. I asked the chairmanship not to make a hasty decision because any unilateral decision will simply reduce our party even more and not enlarge it,” said Tabaku in the statement after the meeting.
According to her, after the chairmanship’s decision to continue the election process, she refused to vote for such a decision that in her opinion was harmful. At the same time, Tabaku announced her decision to withdraw from the position of DP vice head. /argumentum.al
