Faik Nika, chairman of the National Council of Albanians in Montenegro said on a local TV in Tirana on Tuesday that there are all chances that Montenegro will have an Albanian prime minister, Dritan Abazovic, this time.
The Montenegrin parliament voted a no-confidence motion against the government of Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic, ending the term of this government. 43 deputies voted for the dismissal, while 11 were against. Out of 81 deputies, 54 participated in the voting. All opposition parties, led by Milo Djukanovic’s Democratic Party of Socialists, and the parties in the current coalition, the Civic Movement URA and Civis, voted to overthrow the government. “What is known is that after a government of 1 year and several months, the mandate of the executive power of Prime Minister Krivokapic ended as a result of lack of support,” Nika said.
Asked what Abazovic would bring to the political scene and how the new Montenegrin government could be formed and what the Albanians could achieve, he said: “This is a new political reality where it is expected to be built a new parliamentary majority. We have to see how stable the next government will be, because if it is not stable at any moment it can be asked to go to the polls.”
In conclusion Nika spoke of tempered optimism because Albanians will be a minority and so the expectations should be with reservations also due to the lack of funds for investments in Montenegro./ Argumentum.al
