TIRANA, November 13 – On the occasion of Remembrance Day, the British Ambassador, Alastair King-Smith and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Peter Zingraff, participated in a ceremony to mark the 104th anniversary of the end of the First World War on Sunday.
Memorial Day honors those who serve to protect democratic freedoms, said British ambassador who noted the participants in the ceremony came together across faiths, cultures, nationalities and backgrounds to remember the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community.
According to him, the commemoration did not aim to glorify the war but it was an opportunity for everyone to try and work together for a peaceful future.
The American ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim, the chief of staff of the Albanian Army, Arben Kingji, members of parliament, leaders of the religious clergy, as well as the former chairman of the DP, Lulzim Basha participated in this ceremony among others. /Argumentum.al
