TIRANA, October 24 – The Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) postponed on Tuesday the court session against the chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, which will be held on Wednesday.
“The court session is postponed to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m., as the defenders asked for time to familiarize themselves with the acts,” it is said in the announcement of GJKKO.
Berisha refused to appear at the GJKKO to be questioned, while his lawyers were present at Tuesday’s session.
The former prime minister’s lawyers sued judge Irena Gjoka and demanded her dismissal, saying that she violated the Constitution by issuing a security measure without asking the Assembly.
The Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime has continued the investigations against Jamarbër Malltez and Sali Berisha for the privatization of the grounds and sports facilities of the “Partizani Football Club” and “Partizani Multisports Club”.
SPAK has declared that reasonable suspicion has been created, based on evidence, that citizen Sali Berisha has committed the criminal offense of “Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials” committed in collaboration with citizen Jarmarbër Malltezi, who has been arrested. . /argumentum.al
