TIRANA, April 14 – The Russian citizens, Svetlana Timofeva will not be extradited to Russia. The decision was made on Friday by the Court of Elbasan, which decided not to accept the request for her extradition to Russia with the argument that her life is in danger.
It was the prosecution that demanded the non-acceptance of the extradition request by the Russian state on the grounds that in her country she will not be provided with legal rights according to the human rights convention, while in Albania there is a criminal process against her.
The defense lawyer, Fatmir Lushi shared the same stance, and as a result the court accepted the prosecution’s request not to extradite Timofeva. / Argumentum.al
