Democratic Party (DP) deputy Jorida Tabaku has said that the middle class is disappearing in Albania.
She referred to the data that INSTAT published a few days ago, which proved the disappearance of the middle class and the increase in the number of poor people in the country. This uneven economy that does not produce economic growth for Albanians can only produce an extreme polarization, Tabaku said, adding that the reasons that have led to this situation are inevitably related to the economic and fiscal policies of the Rama government.
“The imposition of fiscal policies such as progressive taxes up to 23% and which has destroyed the personal income tax system, as well as the imposition of abusive taxes contrary to any fiscal logic have had a negative impact. As a result, the middle class is taxed more than the rest of the population and this makes it impossible for better welfare,” said the DP deputy. /Argumentum.al
