TIRANA, May 31 – After the decision to install 700 additional NATO troops in Kosovo, Pristina was visited on Wednesday by Admiral Stuart B. Munsch, Commander of the NATO Joint Force Command in Naples.
During his meeting with the KFOR commander, Munsch stated that in addition to the 700 additional troops that have been decided to be deployed in Kosovo, a reserve battalion is also on standby.
The admiral also met with the Hungarian and Italian soldiers of KFOR, who were injured during the violence exerted by the Serbian protesters on Monday in Zveçan.
He also held consultations with the ambassadors of the Quint countries about the possibility of restoring the dialogue between the parties and ending the violence.
In the meantime barbed wire has been installed by KFOR on the fifth day of protests by Serbian citizens in Zveçan and in the other two municipalities in Leposavić and Zubin Potok. Meanwhile, the Court of Pristina set the measure of detention for 30 days for two Serbs arrested on Monday in Zveçan, who allegedly caused injuries to members of KFOR and the Kosovo Police.
