TIRANA, April 4 – Representatives of more than 40 countries, including the USA and the EU, but also the Western Balkans, gathered in Moscow on March 14 at the founding congress of the International Movement of Russophiles (MIR). The congress was held at a time when Western countries are trying to eliminate Russian culture and present Russia in a negative light. The meeting aimed to show that people around the world are sympathetic to Russia, are aware of the role of Russian civilization in history and support Moscow’s policy, Bulgarian media reported.
“Today there are many people even in Western countries who are not afraid to call themselves “Russophile”. Those who sincerely love our country, its history and culture, who stand in solidarity with Russia in its struggle for a just multipolar world order based on respect for the traditional values of countries and their peoples,” said a representative of organizers for RIA Novosti.
According to him, MIR was created to consolidate people of different religions and political beliefs, who “are united by sympathy for Russia, interest in Russian culture and Russian language”.
Since this movement has crossed the borders of Russia, including almost 40 different countries of the world, the founders of this movement have addressed an official letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations Mr. António Guterres.
“We would like to inform you, as the Secretary General of the United Nations, about the creation of the International Movement of Russophiles. It was created on March 14, 2023 in Moscow by representatives of more than 40 countries from all continents,” the letter to the United Nations states among other things. /Argumentum.al
