TIRANA, August 12 – The price of electricity for bakeries will not change. They will continue to pay 7.6 ALL per kWh.
The decision of the Energy Regulatory Entity (ERE) has been published in the Official Gazette, which rejected the request of the Universal Service Provider (FSHU) at the end of June. FSHU demanded that the favored price of 7.6 lek per kwh be offered for the production of mass bread, while other categories of production have higher rates.
ERE said FSHU’s request has not met the criteria on which it will be able to assess and analyze the costs of the company’s exercise activity, the target level of the required income. According to ERE, the price revision request for the bakery or flour production category would lead to the price revision for all categories of consumers.
There are currently about 4,000 bakeries in Albania that pay for electricity at a subsidized price of 7.6 Lek per kWh. /argumentum.al
