TIRANA, October 14 – Former Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati has said that instead of giving public advice to Kosovo, Albania should do its duties.
Bushati said that there is a need for honest communication between Tirana and Pristina in an interview on News 24 TV on Saturday during which he emphasized that Kosovo does not have a closer and wider door in the region than in Albania.
According to him, the Serb gang terrorist attack in northern Kosovo should not have been a surprise for many, despite the tragic ending with the loss of the Kosovo policeman’s life.
“Today we are not facing the dilemma if the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo will fail, but we are facing the dilemma if there will be stability or we will have an escalation of violence if the entire democratic world does not unanimously condemn this act of aggression that it is inspired by the official Belgrade,” said Bushati.
Asked which is the mistake of PM Edi Rama towards Kosovo PM Albin Kurti, Bushati said he did not prefer to deal with individuals regardless of the weight of power they have, but, according to him, the relationship between Albania and Kosovo is strategic.
“We must have capillary coordination between us on matters related to the national interest. We can have different policies on the role of the state in the economy, but when it comes to national issues, we don’t have the luxury of having a division,” said Bushati. /argumentum.al
