TIRANA, April 16 – Democratic Party (DP) MP Flamur Noka, a member of the Re-establishment Commission, said on Saturday that the time of the exclusions has already ended, inviting the Democrats to participate in the Assembly on April 30.
Noka said that no one will be able to organize processes where 1958 chairs are read as 5004 delegates and that no one will be able to replace the free vote with blinds or tear gas.
“The time of exclusions is over and with it the time when the will of the majority was ignored. The DP has been and remains open to discuss specific problems that may have been identified in their areas in a constructive spirit with every MP and Democrat,” he said.
According to him, the process launched months ago by the December 11 Assembly will be stopped in no case and under no circumstances will as it has been convincingly reconfirmed by the Democrats’ vote in the March 6 election.
He added that, “we welcome all those who have become or want to become part of this process, but we will not allow anyone to hinder it because of the fear that Basha-Alibeaj has of facing the will of the Democrats. Unity comes through free voting.”
The DP deputy, Enkelejd Alibeja reacted after Noka’s statement, emphasizing that the announced rejection of the request of the overwhelming majority of the Parliamentary Group for unification, the continuation of the predetermined agenda and the lack of a reflection on the situation where the party is today is clear evidence which group is interested in Democrats in and who tends to blindly follow the instructions of the idols.”
Earlier Alibeaj presented the DP union platform saying the unification is a value that all Democrats want.
According to him, “the time has come for each MP to see beyond his own interest, beyond the interest of a closed group, joining the majority of the parliamentary group in this unifying stance of the Democrats.”
He said that the first step for the unification of the Democrats is the certification of the current membership as well as the return of the expelled to the party, as well as the cancellation of the unilateral grassroots elections. “Then we can continue with the process of electing the chairman of the Party,” said Alibeaj insisting in excluding the veteran leader, Sali Berisha who has been designated as persona non grata by the US State Department. /Argumentum.al
