TIRANA, September 6 – The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla received on Wednesday the charge d’affaires of the US Embassy, David Wisner, on the occasion of the start of his duties in Albania.
Nikolla pointed out that the US is a strategic partner and a great friend of Albania and Albanians.
Speaker Nikolla and Charge d’Affaires David Wisner discussed the priorities of the new parliamentary session and cooperation for the consolidation of democracy, the deepening and advancement of reforms and were of the same opinion that improved governance and the advancement of justice reform are essential for integration and contribution of Albania to the Euro-Atlantic community.
Meanwhile, in the announcement of the American embassy in Tirana, it is said that the meeting was held to discuss the beginning of the new parliamentary season, as well as to reaffirm the support of the United States for the democratic institutions of Albania.
“They agreed that improved governance, especially in relation to judicial reform, is essential in Albania’s efforts to succeed within the Euro-Atlantic community,” the announcement said. /argumentum.al
