The candidate of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) for mayor of Peja in Kosovo, Astrit Ademaj, was killed in his hometown on Wednesday evening, Gazeta Express reported.
It is reported that besides Ademaj the former PDK’s candidate for mayor of Decan, Blerand Kadriaj has also been killed in this incident.
The PDK is the biggest opposition party in Parliament. Kosovo has scheduled mayoral elections on 17 October this year.
