After Sunday’s presidential election in Ukraine, actor Vladimir Zelenskiy is leading with 30.36 percent of the vote, but will face a runoff on April 21.
With 60.28 percent of the vote counted, the Ukrainian election commission on Monday said President Petro Poroshenko came in second with 16.40 percent, followed by former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko with 13.08 percent, and opposition For Life platform leader Yuriy Boyko with 11.58 percent.
As no candidate got 50 percent of the vote, a runoff is needed to choose a winner. Tatyana Slipachuk, head of the election commission, said that could be difficult, with a second election only three weeks away.
In the runoff, Zelenskiy will face Poroshenko or Tymoshenko, depending on the final results from Sunday.
